Dining at Mortons House

Head Chef, Ed Firth has been a constant at Mortons House for many years. He takes his inspiration from the finest offerings of mostly local producers and is inspired by both traditionally British, and International cuisine, all served in an unpretentious, friendly environment.

It's all about informal dining, featuring grilled steaks and local seafood, but with a few twists of innovation to tempt the palate.

The Restaurant's reputation for fine food is well known, making it a favourite with residents and locals alike and is proud to have held 2 AA Rosettes since 2002.

On fine days, enjoy a beverage, afternoon tea or light lunch on the pretty terrace. Sit under a shady umbrella and enjoy the peace and tranquillity with just the occasional nostalgic sound of a steam train passing by.

Private dining is available in the Castle Room for up to 22 guests.

Mortons House Hotel is a 16th century Grade 2 Elizabethan manor house hotel and restaurant, located in the heart of Corfe Castle, ideally situated to explore the beautiful nearby Dorset coastline.

Exceptional food, and a warm welcome await.

“A very special stay”

We were upgraded, which was totally unexpected, and it was lovely. The best fillet steak ever, it was amazing. We had dinner in the hotel and I couldn’t fault it, sweets were fantastic especially the sticky toffee pudding.

“A favourite place for a winter break”

This was our third visit and we were delighted to find Mortons House as good as ever. We were given a warm welcome by staff who remembered us. Pre-dinner drinks by the log fire in the Oak Room were a real treat. Dinners were delicious; The scallop starter was superb.

“Excellent break!”

Just returned from a 2 night stay with dinner and what a fantastic place. Rooms spotless and comfortable. Couple of minutes’ walk to the castle, and lots of lovely walks and places close by. Would be happy to recommend to anyone.

“Wonderful weekend break”

The staff are what make this place so lovely, they make the place come alive. Our meal was delicious and made for such a special evening. Breakfast was equally as good with homemade bread and a great cooked breakfast. Well worth the visit for a relaxed break.
